Many would say: a stable job, a woman who loves him, land to build on, fast cars, etc.
But all of these are external things, subject to loss.

What I believe every man must possess is:

1. A word as binding as scripture.
2. Unquestionable loyalty.
3. Ambition greater than that of his adversaries.
4. A will strong enough to always start again.
5. And a calibrated sense of justice, ensuring he does not falter by exceeding the qualities above.

With these, he will have everything he needs to win what can be gained and everything necessary to protect what can be lost. And because these things are within him, not outside, he knows that all that is outside will eventually come to him.
