The Trap of Routine
Let me teach you something that applies to all kinds of habits: When we repeat the same process many times without seeing results, our mind begins to question its logic. As a result, it will push boredom or discouragement onto you until there’s a break in the pattern, making giving up the “novelty” of the day.
Our mind is complex, and soon this giving up will also bring boredom. You’ll start something new, never finish it, and become inconsistent—a mere object tossed from one side to another as part of destiny’s amusement.
Therefore, in addition to keeping the reason you started firmly fixed in your memory, you must not become obsessed with the absence or delay of results. If you grow restless with the scenery that seems unchanging on a long journey, your mind will sabotage you, suggesting that you are lost. And it’s at that moment that you may indeed get lost on this straight path. Stay focused, engage with others, enjoy music, or self-challenge—make routine.
